Practicing mindfulness is a great strategy to utilize to help yourself feel an overall sense of joyful well-being. Another great mindfulness activity to practice is the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise. 5-4-3-2-1 Technique 5: Name 5 things that you can see 4: Name 4 things that you can touch 3: Name 3 things that you can hear 2: Name 2 things that you can smell 1: Name 1 thing that you can taste Practicing the 5-4-3-2-1 technique is a great method to use to regain control of your mind, especially when we are feeling worried or anxious. It interrupts bad thoughts and helps bring us back to the present by relying on our five senses: sight, touch, sound, smell and taste. Try this at home to ease your mind and make those "bad thoughts" go away.
Take a long deep breath when you end the exercise.
