Journaling is a great way to express your thoughts and feelings in a private place without judgement from anyone else. This is YOUR special place to express yourself! You can write OR draw what your favorite/least favorite part of the day was, your favorite memories, a problem you had with a family member or friend, the list goes on. Grab a notebook and try it for yourself! Read the journal prompt below to get started :) Journal Prompt What are three things that you are grateful for? Gratitude meaning: Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even computer access. It's about focusing on what's good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have.

Now more than ever, it is important for us to take time for ourselves to relax and practice calming/mindfulness activities on a regular basis. One of my favorite calming activities is listening to mindfulness/relaxation videos on YouTube. Listen to the video below and use this as a resource to calm yourself down when you are feeling overwhelmed, upset, or stressed. You can even listen to mindfulness videos when you are feeling good and just want to take a relaxation break. I hope you enjoy the video! :) What is stress? Stress is what you feel when you are worried or uncomfortable about something. This worry in your mind can make your body feel bad. You may feel angry frustrated, scared, or afraid, which can give you a stomachache or a headache. When you're stressed you may not feel like sleeping or eating, or you might sleep or eat too much. You also may feel cranky or have trouble paying attention at school and remembering things at home. Watch the video below for tips on helping ourselves when we feel stressed out! Coping skills are tools that we use to help us handle difficult emotions (i.e., anger, stress, worry, sadness, etc.) and get us feeling calm or back to our own "normal".
This worksheet will help walk you through different coping skills that you could use on a regular basis to face your fears, calm yourself down, and to cheer yourself up! Welcome Back Disney Students! I hope you all had a healthy, fun, and relaxing summer break! Even though the start of this school year is unlike any other we have had before, I am still SO EXCITED to GROW with each and every one of you! To start the year off strong, I have attached a Vision Board worksheet to help you think about your goals for school this year. This would be a great worksheet to hang up in your learning station to remind yourself of your vision every day! Here is the worksheet Always remember.... You are special
You are important You are loved We are in this TOGETHER! You are AMAZING You are IMPORTANT You are SPECIAL You are UNIQUE You are KIND You are PRECIOUS You are LOVED Have a wonderful and relaxing summer break, Disney students! I have missed all of you since we have been out of the school building in March, and I will continue to miss you until we are reunited again!
Lots of love, Ms. Colletti Summer break is (almost) here! Here are social emotional learning worksheets that you can work on during break to create goals of what you would like to accomplish this summer, activities that you can do from home, and journal ideas to reflect on your experiences from this past school year and your experiences from this summer. The journal ideas can also be used as conversation topics to have with a loved one or a friend.
Happy Monday! A Vision Board is a collage of pictures and words from magazines or coloring pictures that remind you of what brings you the most joy in your life and/or your dreams. This activity can help you set goals for yourself and it can also help you envision what you want your future to look like.
Once you finish your vision board, hang it up in a place where you will see it often to remind you of your goals and what makes you feel your best. You may use this worksheet to create your vision board or you can grab a blank sheet of paper and follow the directions from the worksheet above. |
